Psychological therapy
Psychological therapy can provide you with a space to talk through and understand your experiences, and to find new ways of coping with the difficulties you face. At times we all experience challenges with our mood, such as feeling low, anxious or overwhelmed. Difficult events and experiences can happen to us during childhood and/or adulthood that can impact our mood and daily life. Therapy can help you to cope with your past and current experiences and to gain new skills to improve your wellbeing.
how i work
Having a range of training means that I am able to adapt the way that I work to fit you and your needs, whilst also using recommended and evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (including the use of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy). Through understanding your difficulties, I aim to help you find ways to reduce distress and help you live the life you want to be living.
I offer an initial 15 minute free telephone consultation to answer any questions you may have and think about whether therapy would be right for you. A first assessment session (approx. 60 minutes) involves discussing your difficulties and giving you the opportunity to find out more about me and therapy. Therapy sessions are then usually offered weekly and both short term (e.g. six weeks) and longer term options are available depending on your needs.
Appointments are usually 60 minutes. The first assessment session and ongoing therapy sessions cost £120 per session. I occasionally have spaces available at a lower cost for those on a low income etc. Please contact me for more information.
Specialisms
I am experienced in working with adults with low mood and anxiety, as well as those who have experienced trauma/s and a range of life difficulties. I have experience working with those with ADHD and autism.
I also specialise in working with adults living with long-term health conditions, such as pain, fatigue, cancer and long covid. If you are living with a long-term health condition and would like support to improve your quality of life, cope with your symptoms and improve your mood, please contact me.
